The International Tin Association is pleased to announce Atlantic Tin has committed to adopt the Tin Code sustainability standard. This decision underscores Atlantic Tin’s dedication to responsible and sustainable tin production, reflecting its ongoing efforts to align with global expectations on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

ITA’s Tin Code is a comprehensive framework designed to promote responsible and sustainable tin production according to global expectations on several areas of sustainability, including business integrity, labour and human rights management, responsible sourcing, and socio-environmental stewardship. By committing to the Code, Atlantic Tin aims to enhance transparency and foster positive impacts on the communities and ecosystems where it operates.

The company has been developing the Achmmach project in Morocco, which was expanded to include a larger exploitation licence area and an existing processing facility that can be integrated into the project according to their recent scoping study.

Atlantic Tin’s CEO, Simon Milroy, commented that the company is “excited to take this significant step towards a more sustainable future”. Continuing, Mr Milroy said “Adopting the Tin Code not only strengthens our commitment to sustainable practices but also demonstrates our dedication to leading the industry in environmental responsibility and ethical conduct as we transition in to production.”

This marks the second member of ITA’s Explorers & Developers Group to commit to adopting the Tin Code, as investors place increasing importance on ESG matters in the tin industry.
